Miley Cyrus: Twerk, Tongue, Trash.

I watched the VMA’s a few days ago but I seemed to have missed Miley’s and Robin Thicke’s performance. But the next morning I was reading the newspaper and I see an article that said talked about Justin Timberlake’s reaction to Miley’s performance and many other articles about her new hobby of sticking out her tongue and ‘twerking’.

Now, I honestly had no clue what twerking meant but after watching the video for ‘We can’t Stop’, I could pretty much guess it was a sexual step. So I watched her performance with Robin Thicke and there was only one thing on my mind. Disgust.

I felt violated and disgusted at Miley. This girl who I once looked up to. This was the same girl who wrote ‘The Climb’; this was the song that kept me hoping every time I fell down. And here she was dancing and doing things like a (I hate to say it) sl*t. I couldn’t believe this was the same girl from Hannah Montana, that she was the same girl who sang ‘Butterfly Fly away’. What would her dad say now after he saw such a performance?
I’m sure he’d be very proud.

Also her video ‘We Can’t Stop’, I didn’t pay attention to it before, but I saw a video where this guy said that the video was basically promoting drug use, and when I watched the official music video, I just wanted to throw up literally. Is this what our you get generation is going to grow up watching? If it is, then I can say they are already doomed.

As for Justin Timberlake saying that it’s fine what she did because she is just doing it to show everyone that she’s grown up. I want to ask since when does ‘Growing Up’ mean taking off your clothes and doing stripper dance steps in mainstream media? Don’t kids, toddlers to be specific, run around without their clothes in public because they don’t have the sense yet to know about dignity or shame. So how does growing up relate to dancing around in your underwear?

I’m really very very disappointed in Miley. I really hope she realizes before it’s to late that this is not what the public expected of her and I’m sure most people would agree with me.

Oh and also, can someone please tell her to keep her Tongue IN her mouth?
